As I dropped my heart at day care and stood behind a wall waiting for his cries to subside, a caretaker bumped into me realizing everything. She offered sympathy through her eyes and went ahead with the trolley of food that she was pushing.

Thank you to those who have understood my emotions as a mother and made me feel that that it is normal to be that way. Thank you to also those who judged me in these situations, it made me realize how precious is empathy.

Thank you to the friends who said ‘it’s alright’ when I backed out of a plan last minute due to my son. Thank you to also those who thought I over prioritize motherhood, it made me realize the true definition of friendship.

Thank you to the colleagues and managers who showed their support when I left early and offered me flexibility. Thank you to also those who raised their eyebrows when I got a call from daycare that my child is sick, it made me a stronger woman who can ignore being judged.

Thank you to the caretakers who did not mind when I told them to take extra care of him on a particular day when he needed it. Thank you also to those who thought I am pushing too much on them, it made me realize how rare is humanity.

Thank you to the fellow moms who found it alright when I asked a rookie question . Thank you to also those who displayed an expression of surprise on my naivetes, it made me sharpen my wisdom as a mother.

Thank you to the guests that visited us and joined us in shushing as our baby slept. Thank you to also those who did not look so pleased when told so. I know who can we have gatherings at home with, in future.

Thank you to those who called me beautiful even when I gained extra weight in pregnancy. Thank you to also those who pointed out concerns about how soon I will be able to shed it, it raised my determination towards my goal.

Thank you to the people in my family and relatives who accepted my unavailability for phone calls and visits as I tried to fit in my mommy avatar and juggled between errands. Thank you to also those who got upset with my lack of attention, I realized which ones I truly needed in life.

Thank you to the people on my social media accounts I share my life with, for showering their sweetness and blessings every time I posted something as an overwhelmed mother. Thank you to also those who scrolled down without reacting, I understand now not everyone’s validation is important.

Thank you to the people who held a door open, helped me with the pram, offered me seat or simply displayed supportive body language as a stranger as I struggled when out with the baby. Thank you to also those who threw glances of judgement on me as I panicked handling his loud cries in public, it helped me evolve my maternal personality.

“YOU MAKE AN IMPACT EVERYTIME YOU SEE, MEET OR INTERACT WITH ANY PERSON. AND SOMETIMES YOU DON’T EVEN REALIZE HOW THANKFUL THEY ARE FOR THAT IOTA OF HAPPINESS AND POSITIVITY YOU BROUGHT INTO THEIR LIVES.

KNOW THE WORTH OF ENERGY AND IMPACT YOU CARRY EVERYDAY WITHIN YOU AND ACCEPT MY THANK YOU.”
